ABOUT US

Proudly Serving Our Community Since 1902

GPK Auctions  has proudly served customers of the Wadsworth and surrounding area’s for over 100 years. The company was originally founded as DH&L in 1902 by three local residents known as Derr, Harrison, and Lesher. At the time, the community was populated with farmers who needed more resources to effectively run their land and feed their animals. Local farmers wished for a nearby feed mill to serve their needs. Derr, Harrison, and Lesher heard the calls of the people, and just after the turn of the century, GPK Auctions was born.

DH&L began by offering ground grain for purchase. The men did the grinding themselves in a small wooden building that sat on the same location where the business exists today, at the corner of Main Street and Rittman Road at the South end of Wadsworth.

To keep up with the ever-changing times, GPK Auctions evolved to sell a small selection of agricultural supplies, including burlap sacks, hay, straw, saddles, hunting supplies, and a myriad of other goods that assisted farming. At the turn of the 20th century, GPK Auctions expanded the business into horticultural and building supplies. It was during this expansion that GPK Auctions brought in a fleet of trucks to haul bricks, block, and other materials to their customers. As the product offerings grew, so did the fleet and the overall footprint of the business.

While the company has seen several different owners over the years, the business remains a Wadsworth staple. The current owners, Chris and Debbie Muzzin, took over in 2004 after a few down years in sales. The Muzzin’s took hold of the struggling business and breathed new life into it, revitalizing the organization from the ground up. As experienced business owners, Chris and Debbie used their knowledge of the industry to implement a robust plan for change. With time, more supplies for homeowners were incorporated into the retail business. By marrying this wide variety of offerings together in one place, GPK Auctions has flourished. Today, this business is an all-inclusive resource for contractors, homeowners, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
